Loads
A load groups multiple shipments moving together — same truck, same route, same driver. It simplifies dispatch when one vehicle carries freight for several orders.
When to use loads
Use a load when you need to:
- Consolidate several customer shipments onto one truck or container
- Assign one driver to multiple deliveries in a single run
- Track all associated shipments under a single dispatch record
- Calculate the total buy cost for a multi-shipment run against one carrier
Note: Loads are optional. If each order has its own dedicated vehicle, you don't need to use loads — work directly with Shipments.
Creating a load
- Go to Loads in the sidebar and click New Load.
- Give the load a name or reference (e.g. "Sydney Run – 15 Sep").
- Assign a Driver or Carrier.
- Enter vehicle details: truck registration, trailer, container number.
- Set the departure date and expected return date.
- Click Add Shipments and select the shipments to include in this load.
- Save. All added shipments are linked to this load.
Key fields

| Departure Date | When the vehicle departs. |
| Shipments | List of shipments consolidated onto this load. |
| Total Weight | Sum of all shipment weights on the load. |
| Buy Rate | Total cost for this load (can be split across shipments). |
| Notes | Driver instructions or internal notes. |
Tip: Updating the status of a load (e.g. marking it as Delivered) can automatically update the status of all linked shipments, saving you from updating them one by one.
