Driver App & Work Portal
Drivers and subcontracted carriers never see your office screens. They get two simple tools: the Optrix Driver app on Android, and the Work Portal in any browser.
๐ฑ Optrix Driver app
For drivers on the road. Shows their loads, shares GPS during the trip, and captures proof of delivery.
๐ Work Portal
At yourcompany.optrixtms.com/work. Carriers accept jobs and assign drivers there; drivers can also update jobs there.
Optrix Driver app
Signing in
The driver needs a login, created on their driver record. In the app they enter:
- Workspace: your company's subdomain, for example
acmeforacme.optrixtms.com. - Their email and password.
Only driver accounts can sign in to the app. Repeated failed attempts are temporarily blocked. Each sign-in replaces the previous session, and deactivating the driver signs them out.
Screens
- Dashboard: a summary of today's and active loads.
- My Loads: every load assigned to the driver. Tap a load to see pickup and delivery dates, the order, carrier, vehicle, shipments, cargo (pieces and weight) and your notes.
- Alerts: notifications from dispatch.
Running a trip
- On an Assigned load, the driver taps Start trip and confirms the cargo is collected. The app asks for location permission, and notification permission on Android 13+.
- The load moves to In Transit and its shipments become Picked Up. The card shows "๐ Sharing location with dispatch".
- At the destination, the driver taps Mark as delivered. This opens the proof of delivery screen.
Proof of delivery (POD)
- Received by: the recipient's name. Required.
- Delivery photo: taken with the camera. It is shrunk automatically for fast upload.
- Recipient signature: signed on the screen.
- Notes: optional, for example "2 cartons damaged".
At least a photo or a signature is needed. When the driver taps Complete delivery, the POD is saved as a document on the load and its shipments. The load, shipments and order are marked delivered, the customer gets the Delivered email, and GPS sharing stops.
Work Portal
Carrier logins and driver logins sign in at your normal workspace address and land on My jobs (/work). They can only see jobs assigned to them.
For subcontracted carriers
- When you send an assignment offer, the carrier gets an email and the job appears in their portal.
- The carrier opens the job and chooses Accept assignment or Decline assignment, with an optional note.
- After accepting, the carrier picks one of its drivers under Assign your driver. That driver is emailed and put on the load automatically.
For drivers
- The driver accepts the job.
- Under Update progress, the driver chooses the next update (for example Picked Up, In Transit, Out for Delivery), adds an optional note, and clicks Save progress.
- To finish, the driver clicks Complete delivery. This needs the recipient's name, an upload of the signed delivery document (PDF or image, up to 10 MB), and a tick confirming the document includes the recipient's signature.
All portal updates flow straight into the shipment, load and order, just like updates made by your office team.
